examiner: Paul A. Wilcock, who played a leading role in the creation, deployment and support of the national wireless AMBER Alert system and the national wireless Onstar system, is taking a principal role in a revolutionary product – a wrist-worn device with GPS tracking, 24/7 monitoring and a cell phone, designed to promote safety for children and elders. The device, which is tamper-proof and waterproof, can be tracked by parents or guardians, by GuardianLion’s monitoring call center, and if necessary, by law enforcement. GuardianLion’s wrist-worn device, called LEO, functions as a watch and cellular phone while also featuring an unprecedented level of tracking and communication. Parents or guardians will be able to go online to track the wearer real-time, and can elect to receive text messages giving the wearer’s location at pre-specified times. In addition, the parent or guardian can set up “speed alerts,” “safety zones,” or “exclusion zones,” each of which trigger alerts if the wearer breaches pre-described boundaries. The LEO serves many needs: Locating Lost Children Knowing where your children are helps protect them and gives you peace of mind. LEOTM can pinpoint a child's location anywhere — close to or far from home at all times. Seniors at Risk Protect loved ones with Alzheimer's, dementia and other health threats. Guard against them getting lost. Ensure they get help in case of an emergency. Be able to contact them at any time. Special Needs Teens & Adults GuardianLion Wireless can help protect individuals, such as those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, who lose track of time and place, become distracted, lost or panicked. Recreation & Personal Protection A woman running on unfamiliar streets, a hunter in the wilderness, a hiker out on his own—GuardianLion can help find them and get them assistance. Business to Business needs: Municipal GuardianLion could make it easier for overtaxed Family Service officers and caseworkers to keep track of and protect children under institutional and foster care. Care Facilities Day care, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and group homes also hold potential for GuardianLion. The device, which is linked to the GuardianLion service, allows for 24-hour, real time monitoring by parents or loved ones. In case of emergency, GuardianLion staff begins active monitoring, contacts 911 and facilitates communication between child, parents and first responders. “This product takes tracking and personal location technology to an entirely new level,” said Paul Wilcock. “First, it provides an unrivaled level of flexibility in communicating and keeping track of your loved ones. Second, we expect this product to offer a wider range of tracking capability than any other personal tracking product on the market.”
